BENEFITS

Why should I use Instant Ortho Shoe Locks?

Instant Ortho Shoe Locks have several advantages, without having to change the styles of the shoes you currently wear.  They instantly make the shoe more stable by preventing progessive, or premature loosening of the shoelace.  Instant Ortho Shoe Locks draw the tongue up to the maximum height of the shoe vamp, and center it, coddling the foot and ankle.  At the same time providing energy return to the ankle, and perfectly maintaining a preset shoelace tension, again and again.  Instant Ortho Shoe Locks allow your shoe to maintain even tension across the tongue of the shoe to help address medical issues commonly aggravated by current footwear designs.  The free-dangling, shoelace bow is a major hazard in the workplace. The Instant Ortho Shoe Locks eliminate this hazard from the second they are put on.

How long has Instant Ortho Shoe Locks been around?

Instant Ortho Shoe Locks have been developed, engineered, patented, and real-world field-tested for over the ten years.  They are ready to perform from the second you put them on.

How does Instant Ortho Shoe Locks help my shoe laceswork better?

Using Instant Ortho Shoe Locks, the shoelace is allowed to freely move within a closed system in which no shoelace length is added to or taken away from the shoe vamp.  Instead, shoelace length is harvested.  With Instant Ortho Shoe Locks, the vamp of the shoe can selectively spread at the top, middle, or bottom wherever the most force is applied, at any given time.  This happens by harvesting extra shoelace length from the other areas along the shoe vamp. This allows the pressure exerted by the shoelace, across the top of the foot, to be evenly distributed.  A generalized, decrease in pressure on the top of the foot is the expected result.
Instant Ortho Shoe Locks, when applied correctly, results in elevating the shoe tongue to its maximum height, centering the tongue perfectly, protecting the foot and ankle, providing energy return to the ankle, and locking it into place with a consistent, preset tension every time.

Ever wonder why those shoe eyelets are so dang small and tight?

We all know that the shoe lace bow slips and starts loosening itself  from the very first step.  The industry quick fix is to make small, frictional eyelets that restrict the movement of the shoe lace, thus, decreasing the demand on the weak link, the bow.  Thus, the requirement of lace-choking eyelets, which restrict the back-and-forth movement of the laces, which in turn restrict the foot blood flow with excess pressure on the feet.  This also create focal areas of stress on the existing shoelace and potential, premature failure.

If the shoelace is free to move up and down the top of the shoe doesn't that allow the shoe vamp to pull apart?

In the case of a bow, as the bow slips, more length of shoe lace is added to the overall vamp of the shoe, inevitable loosening of the preset lace tension with each footstep made.  This allows the whole vamp to spread open.  In contrast, the foot is naturally designed so that one part is expanding while another part is contracting.  This works perfectly with the Instant Ortho Shoe Locks design.  With Instant Ortho Shoe Locks, the movement of the shoelace is within a closed  system, in which no shoelace length is added to or taken away from the shoe vamp.  Instead, it is harvested from other parts of the vamp, reducing pressure points across the whole of the shoe tongue while maintaining the intended lace tension.  The vamp of the shoe selectively spreads at the top, middle, or bottom, wherever the most force is applied on the shoe vamp at any given time.
Overall decrease in pressure on  the top of the foot is the result.
One simple flick of Instant Ortho Shoe Locks quickly corrects one of the major missing pieces of shoe-lace design and potentially provides multiple medical benefits, including even distribution of pressure across the top of the foot, that is loaded with very sensitive nerves, tendons, and vessels.

What kinds of medical problems are frequently addressed with proper fitting shoe gear?        (This does not constitute medical advice.  Please consult your doctor for any medical condition.)

Plantar Fasciitis:

Medical condition involving the soft tissues on the bottom of the foot from the heel to the toes.  Frequently treated by managing proper support of the arch and its associated structures.
Achilles Tendonitis:
Medical condition involving the large tendon inserting into the back of the heel.  It may involve the insertion, midportion of the tendon or its myotendinous connections.  Simultaneous involvement of the Plantaris tendon may occur.

Capsulitis:
Non-specific medical term indicating inflamation/irritation of the soft tissue surrounding a joint.
Tendonitis:
Non-specific medical term indicating inflamation/irritation of the soft tissues of a tendon.

Neuritis:
Non-specific medical term indicating inflamation/irritation of a nerve. It is a common diagnosis (Vamps Disease) in the foot due to abnormal compression along the top of the foot.  This is usually associated with spurring in this area of the foot.  It is commonly accentuated by excess pressure from shoegear.
Hallux Abducto Valgus (Bunions):
Medical Condition of the foot presenting as a bump along the big toe joint.  This condition is multifactorial with a strong familial influence.  It can be induced by trauma, and can be influenced/aggravated by shoe gear.

Tailors Bunions:
Medical Condition of the foot presenting as a bump along the little toe joint.  This condition is multifactorial with a strong familial influence.  It can be induced by trauma, and can be influenced/aggravated by shoegear.
Posterior Tibial Tendonitis:
Medical Condition of the dominant foot tendon presenting as pain along the inside of the ankle.  This condition can be induced by trauma, overuse or maybe induced by a congenital foot type leading to strain and tearing of the tendon.

Posterior Tibial Tendon Dysfunction:
Medical Condition of dominant foot tendon presenting pain along the inside of the ankle.  This condition is usually a congenital foot type leading to strain and tearing of the Posterior Tibial Tendon due to the abnormal torque placed on the tendon with normal walking/standing activities.

Vamps Disease ( Dorsal Exostosis with Nerve Entrapment, Capsulitis, Extensor Tendonitis):
Non-specific medical term indicating inflamation/irritation of nerve. It is a common diagnosis (Vamps Disease) in the foot due to abnormal compression of along the top of the foot.  This is usually associated with spurring in this area of the foot. It is commonly accentuated by excess pressure from shoe gear.

Hammertoes:
Medical Condition of the foot describing the deformity of a toe. Essentially, a toe not straight enough to insult somebody with, is considered a hammertoe.  This condition is multi-factorial with a strong familial influence.  It can be induced by trauma, and can be influenced / aggravated by shoegear.

Neuroma:
Medical term meaning “nerve tumor.” It is a commonly painful, benign process that is difficult to get control of if ignored.  It is commonly accentuated by excess pressure or poorly supportive shoegear.

Subungual Hematoma:
Medical term commonly, known as Runners Toe”, is frequently caused by some form of trauma.  Whether a blunt trauma or the repetitive microtrauma and the shearing force of an overly tight sock, a blood blister under the toenail occurs.  Small adjustments in the way a shoe and sock fit can make a striking difference in controlling this common problem.
